Leaking TRV valve pin

Hi,

I have Danfoss RAS C2 TRV valves.

On one radiator a leak has appeared around the pin which pushes the valve closed. Its seeping out through the gland, enough to soak a paper towel overnight. It doesn't seem to happen when the TRV head is removed, only when the valve pin is being depressed by the TRV.

I have tried tightening the gland nut, didn't help.

If I buy a replacement valve body, can I just switch the gland unit out without having to replace the whole body or drain the system?

I've never done one of those as Im not a plumber. I've swapped plenty of valves though.
Sealed system with a combi boiler?
I just turn off all the rad valves in the house.
Drop the water pressure in the radiator im working on which will take pressure out system.
You can do what you want with only a small amount of water leaking out as a sealed system.
Swap valve or swap part.

You just need plastic or tray under layed out to catch the water that leaks.
Wet vac sucking water as you go.
No need to drain system.

On older loft tanks systems you can bung tank to create vacuum sealed system but I had less success with this so I don't recommend.

I bought a new valve body and took off the gland assembly. Going to switch it later today. Should be easy enough I think.

What's bonkers is that to buy the gland assembly was going to be over £15 (inc p&p), but I could get a whole valve body from Amazon for £10.

What waste.
