My toilet is leaking from where it is fixed to the floor, it's especially bad after being cleaned. I'm assuming that its a seal somewhere that needs replacing. Could somebody advise me about how to deal with the problem?
heeelllooo ellie and welcome
i am no plumber now there a about 5 sources of leaks
leak from the mains inlet and overflow pipe,
leaks from the flush water , from the outlet poo water, condensation
,or the major one badly aiming little boys and big boys pee water
now the only connections i am aware of are mains in and overflow out at the very top of the cistern
flush water from under the cistern down to a point on or round the back of the rim at the top of the pan
and the out pipe just below it for waste
clean all surfaces till dry flush the toilet and check for wet areas paying particular care to any joins in pipes
there are no sources of water below the big round pipe at the back certainly nothing at ground level unless the waist pipe is leaking and the water is running down the pipe or the back of the toilet bowl to ground level
You need to find exactly what is leaking.
If it is leaking from under the bowl it may be a hairline crack
Investigate thoroughly before you part with any money
