Hi all,

so we've "reclaimed" some space to the side of the house, i.e. we've replaced the fence.

This has created a decent bit of space I'm keen to maximise with a shed

trouble I have is there's a chimney stack up the middle.

I could put a shed either side of the stack but wondered what I should consider if I were to make my own lean to shed around it... I've never made a shed before - there are places that make bespoke sheds, but thought i'd save a few hundred and do it myself

I made a lean to shelter, attached to my existing garden shed and on the side of it. I originally added it as a motorbike shelter, for the grandson. The hut floor was set some 6" above ground level and I added a timber along the side, close up under the eave of the roof, by through bolting it to the hut main timbers. More timber formed the roof structure at angle then lay felt on top, with more vertical timbers. For the sides and the door, I just fixed fence panels and a fence panel door. It wasn't intended to be entirely weather proof. I now use it as a bin store.

What you build, depends on its intended use.
