Just tested my LED string lights that are up on the guttering around the roof and only half are working....i say half but thats a guess, but its a 50 metre length and lights all the way around are working, but there are gaps every foot or so where some arent working.

Looks like they are the 2 wire type, not 3 and are plugged into your usual Christmas decoration 12v transformer with the button for changing lighting modes.

Any suggestions for where to start looking at what the issue is? Its at roof level so dont want to spend too much time up there if any

i had a similar thing happen , and the connection just came out - i managed to replace under warranty - but we are by the seaside and wet just corrided the lot - are they LED or bulbs - maybe wiggle each bulb and see if that helps - maybe there are some fuse bulbs in sections

I have icicles thing that we attach to the gutter - but only over xmas and take them down each year - they must be at least 50' long - pretty much go all around the bungalow

Yeah they are sealed LED's. Our is a two storey and were a pain to put up so not a job I want to do twice a year. I didnt expect them to last forever leaving them out, but was hoping to only have to do it every few years or more. The ones at the old house that were left out year after year lasted at least 7 years
