If prices fall a bit they may be viable, just think of the savings in power,longevity and best of all no high cost of disposal to businesses(environmentally friendly compared to flourescent tubes).

I often wonder in regard to led lights are they being kept high priced by the normal lamp makers?

leds on their own are cheap, bung them in a package, light blue touch paper

You can get 4 foot tubes for less than a quid.

Maybe they are high as still not bought in quantity compared to incandescent but may change with the forthcoming rules about low energy lighting?

I also mean leds in general, there is a particular led light i want it costs around £1k


the components to make it are lesss than £100

but i dont have anything suitable to put it in, uou are not telling me the suitable bit is £900
