Hi

My boyfriend and I are looking into rennovating a small house.

We are both new to all this and have come accross some potential obstacles.

We need increase the size of the kitchen by moving a wall, which leads into the bathroom, back about a metre into the bathroom as we feel the space would be much more useful in the kitchen.

The problem is the floor steps up into the bathroom by about 20cm so moving the wall back would leave a step in the kitchen which wouldn't make the space usable.

The floor feels like it is solid concrete so we thought bringing the ktichen floor up would probably be easier than lowering the bathroom floor to the level of the kitchen.

Would this be the best way round this? Does anyone have any idea of costs?
thanks

What's the kitchen floor made of, why the step? Maybe the bathroom floor is insulated and the kitchen isn't?
Probably equal amount of cost/work either way, so choose what suits you better.
