Hiya guys

I have knocked through to our old outhouse to form a large kitchen. However the floors are at a different level.
In order to level to the old kitchen with the new it needs to be raised buy about 1 inch at the far end and about 2.5 -3 inch the other.

whats the easiest way to do this myself i`m not a complete noobie just i haven`t done this before
whats the min for concrete or can i do it with screed i read an old post that mentioned mixing it with sharp sand but that was the last post
The floor at the moment are the old inch thick tiles that we have down our ally and on the pavement down our street

Any help guys
cheers matt

Matt, this means a bit of graft if you want a proper job. Remove the 1" tiles and dig down to 7" or 180mm below the existing kitchen floor level, cover with a thin layer of sand and lay 1000 gauge polythene over the sand and up the wall to about 75mm above the old kitchen level, ( this will stop damp rising up through the floor later). Lay 25mm thick polystryene over polythene and mix and lay concrete to 50mm below existing kitchen. when this is set lay 50mm screed to bring it up to the kitchen level. job done

Its still fairly straight forward, not as easy as was hoping but the job has to be right

cheers
matt
