leveling part quarry tiled and part suspended wooden floor

First post, help required on floor levels.

having removed a non supporting wall between old kitchen and old breakfast room i now have two differing floor levels. I want to lay large tiles on the floor, but am unsure how to bring the floors level. I have a difference of between 0mm and 12mm. would appreciate any input on this one.

Which one of the two floors is higher than the other??

The quarry tiles are higher, as an aside to my original query, what depth plywood would you recommend, effectively we have 9foot by 9foot tiles and 9foot by 9foot quarry.
