I have just taken out a dividing wall between a kitchen and dining room (in a 1950s house) and will be fitting new kitchen units and either a marmoleum or tiled floor. The levels are not too bad but I have taken up Marley tiles so theres little lumps and bumps and I want to get a nice even finish across the 7.2m x 3.3m area to work on.

What sort of products should I look at (DIY) and how thin can the layer be?
