Looking to level an outside space ready for gravel grids followed by decorative aggregate on top to make a sort of gravel patio area (About 3 x 3 metres).
Currently have decking there which will be taken up so there is just soil and bits of waste under there.
What's the best material to level it off. Type 1 Mot or ballast, or will a layer of sand be enough. There won't be much traffic apart from a bit of foot traffic.
