hi - have a brand new toilet, waiting to be installed over a newly tiled floor. Problem is toilet has been cast a bit wonky  !

As a result we need to pack up the right hand side of the pan to bring it up to level by about 5-10mm - what would anyone advise to use?

Reluctant to use sand and cement cos of aethestics - unless we recessed it back under the edge, so we could cover surface with grout or silicone? Would shims or similar be better, though strength obviously an issue?

Any ideas appreiciated!

many thanks for your reply - (so much for paying for a decent loo - should have just gone to b&q!) - what should we infill with after - grout? as we want best possible seal and adherence to tiles around gap against the floor.

I think your'e approaching this from the wrong angle.

Check carefully that your new floor is flat and level. Then get the wc pan replaced.

I've tried to fit quite a few bits of sanitaryware with dodgy casting over the years and while it can usually be bodged somehow, the result never looks perfect.

You've paid good money and should expect a decent product.
