Hi,

I have a new patch of plaster (on scratch coat). Fully dried by now.

There are 2-3 slightly hollow areas (1-2 mm deep at most by 200-300mm length ) which I am trying to level off as much as possible before a fire surround gets placed against the wall.

I have tried 2-3 layers of decorators filler (decorators choice ... yikes too powdery). Would polyfilla be any better OR even better ... could I use finishing plaster to fill the hollows?

TIA
Chalres

It is often a good idea to apply a mistcoat on bare plaster skim prior to filling, this will tend to highlight any imperfections and give the filler a better adhesion factor.

Pollyfilla may be ok for your needs, difficult really to ascertain without being able to see it though. If available a better choice would be Red Devil Onetime.
