Hi there,

We've just had our bathroom replastered and have been recommended using Leytex High Opacity paint on top of the plaster for the undercoat. Is this suitable for a base coat in the bathroom and will it be ok to paint over with bathroom paint?

Thanks

I wouldnt use bathroom paint at all but more so on new plaster.

Thin your first coat of emulsion down by about 30% then apply two more coats over the top both thinned by about 15%.

This paint will allow any moisture in the paint to escape.

Give it a few months and redecorate using either vinyl matt, silk or soft sheen (assuming your bathroom is reasonably well ventilated) if not use acrilic eggshell instead of kitchen and bathroom paint ( IMO its an awful product and goes on like glue)

do as zampa says and you wont go wrong, we use super leytex as a CHEAPY, ;)
