Hi All

My dvd player shows , reading then no disc?

Cleaned laser first, checked spindle motor which is fine, still no joy as spins then stops, so I figured laser gone so ordered new one as unit is 11 years old

Fitted new laser unit and yes you guessed it, no difference.

Can anyone suggest my next move, do not see any dodgy diodes or caps on circuit board.

Did you check and adjust the laser power after fitting?

Not sure what your resistance readings will need to be though.
