Reading on a similar post in this forum has made me think and would be very interested to know. In case of damages to our property or to other properties, caused by builders or even delivery vehicles, in the process of repairs or other works, does our home insurance cover us?

Yes I will give them a call tomorrow morning first thing but thought to ask here too.

Any decent tradesman will have public liability insurance, this is for this very reason. I personally have 1 million pl insurance. Not a builder, general property maintenance and kitchens and bathrooms etc...

Very much doubt it. I told my insurers I was building my extension and they were obsessed with how much public liability insurance the “contractors” I was using had. Never quite seemed to get the fact that I was building it myself, so just told them about my gas fitter and sparky.
In any case, they put an exclusion on my policy meaning they wouldn’t touch anything remotely to do with the extension build.
As per reply above, it’s down to the builder. As soon as you tell your home insurer you’re having work done, things get complicated so be careful.
