Life under the Tree

I live close to a 150 ft Sycamore tree. My problem is moss, removed 2 buckets fulls of the stuff from the North facing roof recently, cleaned it 2 years ago also. Also have moss on the lawn / drive / any surface. Any thoughts on its reduction

I've heard that copper can prevent moss growth on the roof, it is said to poison the moss when small particles from the copper are washed down the roof when it rains.
