Hello

I’m trying to lift a concrete manhole
cover that’s located in the garage because I need to find out if the sewer is shared with any neighbours.

there are no handles nor are there any holes to insert a hook to lift it up. Can anyone advise on how I can lift this concrete block up?

Some force by hitting round the edges with a club hammer while trying to get an (old) screwdriver or suchlike in to lift it up.

I used to use some crowbars. Be careful though, they are heavy, did one on call a few years back, and accidentally dropped it in :notworthy:

Update:
I managed to lift it by drilling handles onto the block. It was 4” thick and must have weigh what felt like 50kg.
Then underneath it was the manhole cover. This was much easier to lift.

SO this would suggest that before you put it back down, add some feature to make it removable again.
