So we removed a dado rail that had lining paper above and below. Sanded the edges of the wallpaper, easifilled the void, sanded then painted. On the whole it looks really good. However we've had a couple of areas where the wallpaper has lifted.

What's the easiest way to remedy this? We're not after a perfect finish as the paint job is just a stop gap until we get round to properly doing this room in a couple of years.

Also, we've got some areas where the paint has cracked. This seems to be just above where the filler was. What would have caused that?

Ta muchly

Slip a blade under the flap and tear the paper to lift the area use a small (artists) brush to apply overlap adhesive, smooth down wipe off surplus paste when dry VERY light sand with fine paper and repaint the area with the same tool you used to paint the wall in the first place, this will ensure the texture of the paint finish matches the rest of the wall.

Follow Footprint's sage recommendation.

For future prosperity- sometimes the water in the filler reactivates the glue and causes the paper to lift slightly. When using powdered based fillers over lining paper I normally apply a coat of zinsser BIN first. It creates a waterproof barrier. Oil based undercoat would work just as well but it takes much longer to dry.
