Hi,

I have 6 lights (all less than 60w) on a ring circuit. The 6amp MCB for the circuit keeps tripping (as soon as it's reset - even with the lights all off).
This has just started to happen - with no other work interferring with the circuit.
Please advise the best way to troubleshoot the short...

thanks

apologies if I've used the wrong terminology - I'm not an electrician...
If it's not a ring circuit - what else could it be? and how does that change my troubleshooting process...

Lighting circuits are radials. The only place Ring circuits are used is on sockets.

As has been said, check connections at all fittings and switches. There are diagrams on the forum sticky and in the wiki to show you how it should be wired, in case there are loose or crossed connections.
