Light pull cord (slightly different)

Hi - I've seen lots of postings about this, but mine is slightly different - could someone help please?

I've bought a new fitting - it has COM, 1WAY, 2WAY and EARTH.

I have 2 red, 2 black, a green and yellow earth and a bare earth (I think).

Please could someone advise where I should put each wire?

Where were the wires connected to the old switch? You did make a note of where they went, didn't you?

no i didn't note where the wires went previously - i would have done if i'd read this forum first - but i didn't

That makes it harder. OK, were any of the wires joined together? The black ones for instance....

yes - i think the blacks were joined in a block and one red went into 1W and one red went into COM - and the earths went to earth!

OK, so join the backs together. one red into com (if you have a tester this should be the one that is the live feed) the other red can go into either L1 or L2.

Its prefereable that teh mains feed goes into COM but not major prob if u get them the wrong way round.

Dont forget to turn power off at the fuseboard before starting!

so how is this any different at all to the other 10 or so "i changed my lightswitch but don't know where to put the wires" posts that we get in here every week?

Not at all different, but I had 10 minutes to spare and thought I'd be more helpful than just saying "go use the search button"
