Light strimmer and hedge trimmer

Am looking for a long handled hedge trimmer for occasional use and strimmer for doing the edges of the lawn, anybody got any experience of either of these….

It depends whether you have a massive garden and hedge.
I personally prefer a manual pair of shears for hedges and a pair of scissors for the lawn edge as you get a neater job.
It's difficult to justify buying electrical gadgets to just be used a few times a year, especially when they don't do a very good job.

I find strimmers just blow grass all over your patio, path and border plants.
I'd question whether strimmers are actually for clearing an area of weeds rather than the precision job of lawn edging.
Our strimmer has sat in the shed unused for years. It's a cheap Qualcast one and is rubbish.
I wish I'd bought a good set of lawn edging shears instead.
