All,

Looking for some advice really. I am about to have a new kitchen installed and some nice under pelmet lighting.

This lighting will have a std plug and will plug into an existing single socket (on the socket ring main/loop). I would like to know how to run a cable from this socket to a new double light switch (currently a single), so that one side of this switch can control those lights (rather than having to use the button on socket itself) with the other side controlling the main kitchen ceiling light?

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, Andrew

Either put it on the lighting circuit & install the 2 gang switch or replace the existing single socket for a fuse connection unit (FCU) but it will be switched from there, not where you wish......

I recommend that you call in a electrician to put the pelmet lights on the lighting circuit.

hello the_parkster, il78 is trying to say you can not do exactly as you are asking, so best get an electrcian in to do it for you. (except he will do it the right way and discuss option you can have. i.e where you want the light switch (s) etc
