light wont turn off

i went to fit a new liight on the ceiling and now the light wont switch of.There is 2 reds joined to 1 black, 1 black on its own which is neutral and 2 earths joined together how can iget the light to turn off?if you could please help i would be very grateful...matty

Disconnect the black from the two reds and have your light fitting connected to the two blacks, at a guess. Put a bit of red tape around the black that you have just liberated, if you're feeling professional....

you should not have red and black connected together. see for reference for how it should be wired

Should be red sleeving now, shouldn't it?
 
the NICEIC don't like tape because it can sometimes fall off i don't think the IEE regs themselves explicitly forbid it though.
