Lighting cpc - Picture

See a lot of that.

Note:
All the cpcs should be together,
no inner conductors should be seem - outer sheath must go right into the term box.
Cables must be clipped to provide strain relief.
 
Very common to see the CPCs twisted outside a JB from the 80s.

Yours looks be a bit of an untidy job of it though

I assume it a lighting lash up.

Whatever way you look at it, one of those wires is the live feed for the lot (probably one of the grey ones). That means that one half has no continuous earth carried through to it.

So the add ons (white wires)? or the two grey ones (may be a switch and feed on to other lights) have no earth.

One hopes that vera&co have remade the junction in a proper manner!
 
The owner had boarded the loft and I presume had moved the wiring from under the board, there various high quality wiring to other jb's throughout the loft space! The owner will be informed of the unsafe installation. (Not in at time of visit).
