Lights above Shower?

Hello

I have a relatively large bathroom and in the past (previous to my ownership) the bathroom had a walk in shower.

The ceiling has 3 rows of spotlights but stops before one corner of the bathroom where I believe the shower used to be.

I do want to have a new shower put in the same corner but I would have also liked the light above me whilst in the shower also.

Can I have an extra couple spot lights above the shower or should I leave them out?

Of course you can. Providing they comply with the rules for bathroom zones.

Indeed - and even if (unlikely) the ceiling above the shower is so low that it would still be in zone 1, there are lights (probably ELV) designed to be used in such situations.

No need to be ELV, just suitably IP rated.

Indeed - but, in practice, many of the lights sold for use in Zone 1 are ELV, at least as far as the exposed parts are concerned (I'm thinking there particularly of LED downlights, where the visible/touchable light fitting itself is ELV, but with an inaccessible {LV->ELV} power supply attached to the back of it).
