Lime plaster onto brickwork

I want to make good or pack out the plaster below the skirting line. There a couple of reasons why, I don't want 7" skirting. We're going to lift the floorboards and insulate (this is a ground floor, timber suspended) and I need a surface I can fix a membrane to. The existing surface would not suit because if the timber packing pieces and crumbling brickwork. Also it would make the new skirting easier to fit. I was thinking I'd make good to about 2" above the original floorboards.

Normally I use hardcore but I want to use breathable, lime based material. The is an 1920s house with no cavity walls. Ive seen this product and was wondering if anyone's used it or has other suggestions? https://diyrefurb.co.uk/products/renovating-plaster?variant=47785776709923

That video was perfect, totally answered my question, thanks.
I notice he didn't wash with PVA before the first coat. I'm guessing that to aid breathability.

Yeah. PVA is a sealer. Just dampen down

Seems a bit pricey, and I would think less breathable than lime putty plaster- maybe worth considering traditional lime putty plaster - something like: https://mikewye.co.uk/product/lime-plaster/
