Looking for some advice, as keep getting conflicting info & know nothing about heating systems.
We have a combi boiler, but want to install a solid fuel rayburn and use it to heat radiators in the winter months, and use the existing combi in the summer, when the rayburn isnt on.
Is is possible? One guy said yea, and told us the systems can be valved off so they run independently, but are never combined, another said nay, as the systems arent compatible, and said we could only do it by installing an emersion heater, or by running the heating just on the rayburn & hot water on the combi
- some advice would be really appreciated, thanks

Speak to dunsley they make a neutraliser, but might have to convert sealed heating to open vent.

thanks for this. Checked with dunsley on website, cant be done with a combi - are there any other options?

the problem is with domestic solid fueled boilers there is very little option for control.
either you store all the heat in heat banks and blend it as when needed or you throw it away.
you need massive heatbank potential to make anything from unregulated solid fuel.

I'd still speak to them, they offer solutions for many things, just because the website shows they dont, the guy in the office might have a suggetsion.
