Hi,
I need some advice on what sort of lintel to use. I have an internal cavity wall, with an arch, in the middle a one storey extension, running from bank to front. The original plans show it was to go up another storey, but it was never done, and as I have no intention of doing it, I would like to remove the wall.
The brick work is slightly lower than ceiling height, with pieces of 4x 2 timber on top. On this, rest the ceiling timbers, to which plasterboard is attached.
There is no other weight apart from these timbers above this wall as the roof is sloped.
The width to 'support' is 27cm and the length of the new gap would be 2.4m
Any help would be appreciated
