1880 house Crack in ground floor lintel going up the building a bit. No internal cracking yet, and no matching crack below the window (only a hairline slightly offset as pictured). Worth getting a structural engineer in first, or should I get straight to repairing/replacing the lintel?

I suspect you need to know what has caused the crack before you can know how to repair it

I’m with woody on this one, usually he gives me advice and good advice at that lol

I’d get a structural
Engineer to have a look, if it’s 1880 house is it in a conservation area of listed building?
You would need building control/ planning permission anyway which they would ask for SE calcs for the lintel.
probably not the response you wanted but thought I’d throw it out there lol
