I want to take down a wall on the ground floor. Another has already been taken that was running east to west. This was load bearing and has an rsj in place. The one I want to take down runs north to south. Underneath it are floor boards and a few brick plinths.

Above it is a double joint that runs along the length of the wall. The other joists all run north to south in parallel to the wall. There is a cinder block wall above and nothing above that.

Can I take this wall down.

Load bearing means it's holding something up.
Load bearing walls take a lot of weight supporting timbers or whatever is above.
If there is nothing above being supported you can take it out.
If you're unsure get it looked at as not always obvious.
