I have to ask as I am not an electrician and therefore I am not sure...
The cooker switch supplys another box which supplys the cooker( fairly normal as I understand it).

I have read in the wiki that this short lenght is not in a safe zone as it runs in a diagonal line from box to box. There were tiles surrounding the cooker connection box but these have been removed. There was no swa cable although the circuit is RCD protected now.

I will be re tiling the area, are there any recommendations for this scenario??

Cheers guys

replace cable with new and run it within prescribed zones, wither aross from the switch and down to the cooker conection unit, or down from the switch and across to the CCU. just remember, the cable has to be in a vertical or horizontal plane from the accessories.

Ah OK. That simple really. It just needs to be extended down and then accross so that it is in right angles?
