Location for PIV

Hi there,

Hope this is the correct forum for this question. Am fitting a PIV in loft. I know the ideal location is in ceiling at top of stairs, various reasons why this is difficult in my house. The landing upstairs is long and thin, with stairs at one end. Would it matter too much if I put it in the middle of the landing?

As long as it's at a high point I can't see an issue, I'm thinking of installing one myself so will see what others suggest.

I have one in the middle of a long, thin upstairs landing with the stairs about a metre from one end. It works very well. I installed a couple of dams in the air outlet (they were supplied with the unit) to direct the airflow along the landing rather than towards the walls.
