Has anyone any views about radiator end grilles and trims? I am wondering if it best to leave them off?

Plus my radiators have locksheild valves with draindown cocks on them. There does not seem to be a way to open or close the locksheild. There is just a nozzle sticking out plus the usual white cover, that I am reluctant to pull off in case of opening the drain. I want to adjust the locksheild slightly. - any advice appreciated

thank you

the valve for draining is inside the nozzle, you need your hose ready, quickly unscrew the valve (with a radiator airing key) push the hose on and it will start draining, you adjust the lockshield by removing the white cap and turning the valve with a small spanner etc,
