Loft boarding and ran into problem

Hello, I’m looking to board my loft however when going up and taking a closer look I have these pieces of wood either end of the loft running width way across and aren’t attached to the trusses at all. These are shown in the photo below. Can anyone give some insight as to what these are and any ideas on how to board over them possibly? The trusses seems to be in awkward places underneath the random pieces of wood and are quite a distance from them (over 270mm) that was the height of the loft legs I was looking at purchasing. Any help is much appreciated.

Temporary wooden battens for spacing and holding when built probably. Pull off
 
Looks like gable end straps and should not be removed. They should be fixed to the gable end studs and the horizontal boards. If they're not then you should ensure they are.
