Hi,

I'm currently boarding out our loft with those 600mm x 2400mm green chipboard tongue and groove boards.

I need to cut the boards around the chimney breast. Here is a picture.

How much of a gap between the edge of the boards and bricks should I leave for expansion? The boards have been stored in the loft for a few weeks already, so will be in total harmony with the climate up there and I will be screwing them down to the cross battens that I've already screwed to the joists at 90 degrees.

Thanks in advance.
