So as some of you may have gleaned from my other post on RSJ and piers for the garage, I've ended up with a home that's half finished, and lots of "paperwork" on what's been done, and it's status.

I'm about to consider the loft extension.
Ive been told that previous renovations removed the top floor ceiling rafters and renewed with uprated rafters and steels in prep for loft floor.

This is the info I have, I've called a few SEs who don't seem interested in helping, and I need to try to understand what further steel may be needed

Steel 203x203 uc46 front and back
20x100x450mm spreader plates
Joist 225x47 c24 resting on central spine wall
Flitch beam from beam to beam resting on central spine wall 2x225x47 with 12mm Steel bolted at 600 centers
Triple joist at opening for stairs either side pocket into wall and timber joist hanger to flinch.

I know to do a dormer id need a ridge beam and a post, but I have no idea what they might need to be, nor do I know what size roof timber

Further, chimneys have been removed and are on gallows so I assume that will need a steel across resting on the front and back steel and spine wall

Any one offer any help to figure this out?

Thanks
A

Well I don't know what it is you're asking or what you have now. SE's won't be interested in digesting your fag packet memoirs, they want to look at drawings or sketches at least, a loft conversion is really right down the bottom of what an SE wants to be doing so you'll have to spoon feed them, so how about you do some sketches of what you actually have and we can go from there?

Further, chimneys have been removed and are on gallows so I assume that will need a steel across resting on the front and back steel and spine wall
Remove the remainder of the chimneys and someone may show some interest.(y)
