Hello! I am looking to convert the loft, and I am looking to buy a chipboard but i don't know what size I should go for 18mm or 25mm,

thank you

18mm will be plenty. Loft timbers are not strong enough to support heavy loads, including use as habitable rooms, and even the weight of flooring adds to the load.

If you tell us the dimensions of your loft timbers, and preferably also post some pics showing method of construction, we can tell you more.

If you are lucky you will be able to carry an 8x4 (2440x1220) sheet through the hatch. that's the cheapest way to do it.

timber merchant

s/b cheaper than a DIY shed but they all sell them

They are T&G all round to fit together tightly

Chipboard will not withstand damp or wet.

They may fit in a people carrier or van, or with difficulty in large estate. they are very heavy when you have more than a few, so not on a roofrack

Merchants should deliver. But buy a single one first and try carrying it up into the loft. I can just manage it.
