loft floors

Could someone tell me if i lay flooring in my loft can it go straight onto the rafters or do i lay 2x2 timber to support the flooring it is only for clean storage space

sppose it depends on the thickness of the flooring and to what weight you wish to distribute up there.
I have it down on my loft and didnt feel the need for any 2x2 timber, just screwed it direct to joists. Takes my weight when walked on. I would just ensure that your joists are equidistant. My old man has just has his full loft proffesionally boarded out and no further support was needed. just the plain t&g screwed down.
