Hi guys looking for some advice please ,I have tried searching but not getting what I'm looking for . Basically I want to put some boards down in loft for light storage but I only seem to have 2 main long joists running down middle section of loft about 6 feet apart (and other ones and each end of loft) In between them are smaller wooden joists . As the loft boards are only 1220mm in length am I safe to use support legs on the smaller wooden joista so boards will fit? Many thanks

you need to look at the timbers that are perhaps 350 to 600 centres [mid timber to mid timber ] as they are ones you need to work from nothing greater as the span is too great
