hi want to add 4 double socket into my sons loft room is it as simple as tapping into the existing ring and going directly back to it thanks

The level of simplicity rather depends on how much you know about the rules for ring finals, concealed cables, installation methods, general installation techniques etc.

Could you provide a bit more detail on how you would tackle the job?

Check the on site wiki for diagrams in the Electrics section.

You could do as you say, but with the cavity space in most lofts you should really run LNE out of one socket, then replace the cable you have disconnected back at its destination socket with the other LNE for the new section.

This retains the ring and avoids messy junctions in back boxes.

You should also consider what the ring you intend to extend x 4 sockets is currently using, load v fuse rating at the CU.

i have easy asses to a double socket that is suface mouted with box trunking and runs direct behind teh stud work i have fitted i was gaing to drop a feed down around and then back down from the last socket ?. basickly its a sq room 4 sockets 1st socket to the lefy of teh downstairs socket and the last being to the right the socket i wish to pull from is in the middle but on the landing level

you'll either need a crimp connection in the back of the existing socket to extend the leg of the ring, or you can swap out the leg from the last socket for a longer one, or you can change the socket on the landing for a dual back box and put 2 single sockets on the front of it and use those as the connections..
