Hi everyone

I have two logs stores that I've built in the garden - one has ash and the other oak logs in.

Just noticed each store and the logs within it are covered in tiny flies/insects.

Never seen it before - anyone seen it before or know what to do about it?

It means I'll have to brush each log before bringing it into the house otherwise the house will get full of these little flying things

Thanks

Logs are an ideal breeding ground for a whole host of insects, as the logs start to slowly decay. Many of them will have been living in the tree even before it was logged. Not sure about the ash though.

Cover the logs with a tarpaulin, then set a couple of smoke fumigators going.
