Hi everyone , well plan was to get drive block paved recently however we are putting that on hold for moment as wife wants log burner first. We had one in previous house and loved it.

I am going to build a larger log store looking for any recomendations etc, I plan on it being around 180 x 80 cm or so, unsure of height. Planing on 3 rows of logs front to back.

Firstly I plan on sloping roof towards rear as will be at back of garden does that matter what way it's sloped ?

Secondly I have watched a lot of videos and unsure what way to go about it. Either build the sides, in 2 frames and a base and then place them inside the side frames up off floora inch or so.

Or build a base and attatch the side peices to the base then attatch roof to the side pieces?

One way the screws will have all the weight and otherway it will sit on the floor so i would imagine it will be stronger ?

Also how to i work out lengths of the side posts if cut a certain angle onto them ? Would i cut same angle on all 4 then set them apart at distance then will be and mark with a straight edge like spirit level the height so correct for roof board to sit on ? What angle is recommended

Sorry I know it's really hard to explain just want strongest design.
Thinking of using

C24 Eased Edge Green Treated Carcassing (47 x 100mm)

For sides and frame for the base.then just a peice along top and side to lay the chipboard or osb onto before I felt.

Want it to last so want it strong, I will also be using fence boards to cladding leaving large gaps.

Any help appreciated
Thanks dean
