Hi,

We're currently making one of those murphy-type tables for my daughter. When it's on the wall it looks like a picture frame, when it comes down the top parts of the frame become legs etc. I did envisage attaching it to the wall using a counter flap latch - which would be easy for her to operate by herself. Unfortunately, due to the thickness of the table plus the thickness of the frame/legs the counter flap catch is not long enough (by about 30mm). Looking around the internet all of the counter flap catches I've seen are a standard size. Does anyone know where I might find one with a longer length or have any other suggestions for attaching it securely and easily to the wall please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Counter flap latches have always been a tad over 3in (75mm), and for the life of me I can't see why you'd ever need one any longer. Would it not be possible to modify your design to use flush bolts, tower bolts, etc to secure the bed in place? Failing that, what about cabin hooks or gravity door holder possibly even gravity gate latches? TBH without seeing a sketch or photo of the piece it's a bit difficult to advise
