Hi i was looking for some advice on a project i have in mind
Would there be any problems putting stone chippings down on top of my flags in the yard
Do i have to provide a drainage?
Hope someone can give me some good advice
Cheers paul

I would avoid chippings like the plague, some idiot put them down on my garden patio they tread in on trainers (great for real wood floors) they get into the lawn and mess up the mower and are like walking on marbles as the layer gets thin.
Neighbours that have them in their drive are constantly sweeping them back off the footpath.
Unless you live in Downton Abbey and have a footman to maintain it think very carefully before putting it down, oh and cats think it's a giant litter tray!

Best wishes,
footprints

putting gravel on top of a hard surface is like putting marbles on it. Unless it is 70mm deep it will be a death trap. If its 70mm deep you'll be wading through it.

It also grinds down and forms a thick layer of dirt at the bottom.....I get the feeling most folks on here aren't too enthusiastic!
John :)

i like gravel surfaces if maintained properly but you can't put gravel on top of flags.
