Having recently installed a new bath, bath basin, toilet and radiator I've lost all hot water. (The water runs from all hot water taps after a period of intermittent flow and at no time is the water hot - its always cold.)

I've checked the head tank in the loft and found that all pipes to and from it are cold to the touch. (The head tank has a vent fitted.)
Please, has anyone any ideas?

You probably have an air lock. To remove it you will need to backfill the hot water system. You can sometimes clear it, if you have a mixer tap on the bath by turning both taps on and holding your hand over the spout. this will force the could water around the hot circuit and push any trapped air out. If that doesn't work, you need a hose pipe. Connect one end to a MAINS WATER supply (outside tap is the best or a drinking water tap), and the other end to the hot tap of the basin. Turn the basin tap on first, then turn the Mains water on SLOWLY and listen. It should start to run and gurgle. Get an assistant to keep an eye on the header tank. The water will be forced up the vent pipe into the header tank. When it starts to run smoothly you have removed all the air. At this point turn off the basin tap FIFST then the supply tap.

You will now have hot water. Please make sure the overflow for the header tank is not blocked - you are going to use it when you backfill.
