Cylinder, pump and 3 way valve in the airing cupboard
Pump is an Altech brand, was replaced around a year ago because the previous one had failed
Pump seems to have a setting knob with two options 'Dp-v' or '3 speeds', and is currently set to 'c2' on the 3 speeds side
Pump has a display that is reading (right now after heating has been running for a couple of hours) '2.4 m'
There are 11 radiators
Most of the radiators are on micro bore pipework
History: Boiler was coming on but not staying on, plumber diagnosed failed pump and replaced. He also noticed that the level was low in the F&E tank and his theory was - ball valve got stuck, tank level dropped, air had got into the system and this was bad for the pump.
After pump was replaced the system started getting hot and working fine, apart from noticed bubbling sounds of air, mostly in one of the upstairs radiators. Plumber said it was normal and would work its way out. Bled radiator a few times but small amounts of air seemed to keep happening. Heating was working so put up with it.
About 6 months ago, as part of other work being done, replaced all TRVs and lock shield valves in the house, just for preventative maintenance rather than any problem. This must have involved some draining/filling of system and Fernox inhibitor was added. After this, air collecting in radiator/bubble sounds got slightly worse but assumed just more air had got in due to opening the system in many places to replace valves.
Recent problem: Started getting a lot of sloshing, water rushing type noises from radiators (not the same as the bubbling noise) and one upstairs radiator in particular. Has been gradually getting more noticable. It's loud enough to be annoying now so want to sort it out. Also concerned about whether there is anything wrong with the system that needs dealing with.
Any suggestions on how to stop the noises and keep the system happy would be much appreciated!
