Hi all, I have a problem, well I think its a problem. when we flush the loo we get a low howling sound, we've dubbed it odins horn as it sounds like a viking calling.

It will stop if I turn such as the cold tap on, can anyone enlighten me as to how to stop this or at least diagnose it so I can either minimise the sound or hopefully get rid of it altogether.

TIA.

Likely 'water hammer', the ballvave is vibrating akin to a reed in a wind instrument. Try turning main stop tap down slightly to reduce pressure, failing this you will need to replace the valve...

Its the washer in the loo fill valve vibrating that causes this...either fit a new washer or a new fill valve.
Reducing the pressure by turning a tap on helps things, but the noise will remain!
