Just a non-urgent post for information only really, I bought some multi-purpose grease in a tub from halfords and smeared it all over the door hinges and boot hinges on my fiesta. However they are now rusting so they are now covered in orange grease! Does anyone have any tips on what to lubricate these with? Going to clean off all the old stuff and re-lube. Is white lithium spray a good way to go, I've never used it before, does it dry bright white?

Its not really considered necessary to grease door pins these days but its not a bad thing to do...I use spray grease suitable for bike chains as it does tend to cling on. Don't overdo the door locks though as it will only trap the dirt - but keeping the door check sliders lubed is very useful.
Cheers John :)

i think it dries white so you can see it, when it starts to fade its time to re lube. halfords stock the 3 in 1 range of lithium and silicone sprays which are quite good
