Hi All,

I'm going to be renewing the flooring in our upstairs toilet soon. Currently there's laminate on top of foam underlay on top of floorboards. The area is probably only around 1.5 sq meters. Is it 6mm plywood I need to put down on top of the floor boards? It will be the click type of LVT that I use.

Cheers
Daz

I was thinking that as I've already got foam underlay down because of the laminate flooring that I just use that instead and treat the LVT as laminate. Sensible?

Not sensible.
You can’t use laminate underlay with LVT click. To soft and thick. You need LVT underlay if it doesn’t have one in.
Go 9mm plywood or 6mm if it’s flat. Maybe go glue down LVT.

Moduleo Layred and quickstep alpha are the best LVT clicks on the market.

As the locking system is thin it breaks easy so they sell underlay at 1-1.5mm.
Read the spec of the one you look to buy.
