Hi We have a small unit on our property that is downhill from the septic tank system so has a macerator pump for all waste and pumps around 40 meters slightly uphill It has a non return valve in the 50mm pipe from the macerator to the septic tank The system works very well 4 years now The only problem we ever have is when there is a power cut or the non return gets stuck that without the macerator pump working the waste backs up till it overflows inside at the lowest point the shower base if no one notices the pump is not working it has overflowed into the cabin makes for a hell of a cleanup and dry out What can I put into the setup to let overflow/backup from backing up I realize I could put some non return valves in each line Toilet shower laundry kitchen and vanity but I think that will just pressurize the whole system till the weakest point lets go Would an open ended gully trap in the line work? or has anyone done something else
Thanks in advance Steve
